I Vigneri Salvo Foti Etna Rosso 2018

Founded by Salvo Foti, I Vigneri is an association of local Sicilian winemakers who seek to highlight the distinct growing sites of Etna. Fruit for the ‘Rosso’ grows at soaring altitudes of 700 meters, in sandy, volcanic soils, experiencing large diurnal temperature swings and intense weather patterns. The wine is a 50/50 blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, showing savory notes of red fruit, smoke, and soi. Great with pizza!

Nerello Mascalese

As grown on Sicily’s Etna volcano this grape is gunning for “Pinot Noir of Italy” status making its case with velvety tannins perfumed cherry fruit and a finesse born of high-altitude viticulture.
