Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris Dundee Hills 2017

Eyrie Vineyards is one of the most influential wineries in all of Oregon. The estate was originally founded in 1966 by David Lett, who was the first to plant Pinot Noir & Chardonnay in the Willamette (and the first to plant Pinot Gris in the USA!) Fruit for this fleshy wine ferments with native yeasts and is farmed biodynamically, followed by fermentation in steel and aging in steel/oak. Notes of apple, green melon, and juicy peach dominate.

Pinot Gris

Literally “grey” Pinot a.k.a. Pinot Grigio which looks almost like a red grape when ripe and which produces soft silken perfumed whites in Alsace, Alto Adige and elsewhere.

Truly 'Pacific Northwest,' this Pinot Noir mecca is indeed Pacific-influenced and located in northwest Oregon. In addition to mellifluous Pinots, a host of whites – including Riesling – excel here.
