Antica Terra Pinot Noir 'Antikythera' Willamette Valley 2016

After studying winemaking at Sina Que Non, Maggie Harrison began vinifying juice at Antica Terra, one of Oregon’s most exciting estates. Harrison highlights the unique growing sites within the Eola-Amity Hills and farms all fruit organically. ‘Antikythera’ is a silky and aromatic Pinot Noir that comes from some of the estate’s oldest plots. Earthy and structured, the wine shows notes of tart cherries, wet forest floor, smoke, and spice.

Pinot Noir

Eloquent dynamic charmer of wine drinkers. Thin-skinned early-ripening seducer of wine growers. Planted everywhere but great in only a few (cool-climate) spots including its homeland of Burgundy.

Just southwest of Portland is some of the world's greatest Pinot Noir, planted in sedimentary soils left by the Missoula Floods, cooled by Pacific air sneaking through gaps in the Cascades.
