Alberto Nanclares y Prieto Rias Baixas Albarino 'Dandelion' 2018

Alberto Nanclares creates some of the most age-worthy, saline-tinged wines in all of Galicia, cultivating all vines organically and with some biodynamic principles. Fruit for Dandelion comes from multiple old vine plots cultivated in sandy, granitic soils. The juice ferments with native yeasts and is entirely vinified in steel, creating a fresh, high-acid, and easy-drinking white. A total steal for grower Albarino of this caliber!

Wine Type

Specialty of Galicia (and Portugal where it’s “Alvarinho”) grown in granitic soils on the Atlantic coast. Its wines are racy mix of stone fruits and sea spray that cry out for salt-baked whole fish.

Galicia's premier wine appellation, its granitic soils a wellspring for stony whites from Albariño and Treixadura, as well as a much smaller crop of tart and brightly fruity reds.
