Marcel Lapierre VdF 'Raisins Gaulois' 2018

Marcel Lapierre has been pioneering the natural wine movement in Beaujolais since the 1980s, producing iconic Gamay-based wines from organically farmed vineyards. Most fruit for this insanely affordable bottle comes from Morgon, with smatterings of AOC Beaujolais thrown in. Notes of tart red and black fruits dominate, marked by earthy undertones and bright acid. Energetic, chuggable, and wallet-friendly-- what more could you ask for?

Wine Type

The purplish grapey red of Beaujolais lately taken more seriously as a wine that punches above its weight. Perfectly fruity and yet in certain villages imbued with a stony mineral core.
