Alzinger Riesling 'Steinertal' Smaragd Wachau 2017

Alzinger’s 11 hectares of vines span some of Austria’s greatest growing sites, including Steinertal and Loibenberg. All of the estate’s fruit is whole-cluster crushed and sees short macerations, creating elegant wines of pristine quality. ‘Steinertal’ Riesling comes from a cooler plot of terraced vines, creating a salty yet fruit-forward wine, loaded with notes of citrus, pears, and stony minerality. Will evolve gracefully over time!

The land of Schwartzenegger and strudel delivers ethereal, electric whites along the Danube, but Grüner and Riesling aren't the whole story; its savory, mineral, lightweight reds can be revelatory.
