Domaine Fabien Duveau Saumur Blanc 'Les Poyeux' 2016

Fabien Duveau is the 8th generation of his family to produce wine in Saumur-Champigny, holding 40+ parcels of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, all farmed organically and produced with a minimalist approach in the cellar. ‘Les Poyeux’ comes from the famed hill of Brézé, fermented and aged on its lees in oak. The final wine is red-fruited and earthy, balanced by peppery undertones and thirst-quenching acidity. Only 12 barrels produced!

Cabernet Franc

In Bordeaux Franc is the eccentric middle child between #1 Son Cabernet Sauvignon and cute baby-of-the-family Merlot. In the Loire (Chinon & Bourgueil) it is proudly itself: savory earthy herbal.
