Larkmead Cabernet Sauvignon 'Solari' Napa Valley 2014
Founded in 1895, Larkmead is one of the longest standing, family-owned estates in Napa. The estate’s 45 hectares sit on a combination of gravelly, clay, and loam soils, with winemaker Dan Petroski seeking to bring out the complexity and diversity of each specific vineyard site. ‘Solari’ ages in 80% new French oak, creating a deep, powerhouse wine, full of sappy blackberry, earth, and charcoal notes. Will age for the next 30 years.
Loamy-soiled, north-south valley reaching from the hot springs of Calistoga to the San Francisco Bay. It’s home to world-beating Cabernet Sauvignon, among other wines, and the American answer to Bordeaux.
