Montevertine Toscana IGT 'Le Pergole Torte' 2010

Montevertine’s ‘Le Pergole Torte’ is one of the most renowned and refined expressions of Sangiovese in the entire region of Tuscany, brimming with elegant complexity and restraint to withstand the test of time. Fruit comes from elevations of 400+ feet above sea level, followed by a 3-4 week maceration and 1.5-2 years aging in oak. The 2010 vintage is resilient and firm, thanks to a late harvest and cooler growing season. Perfumed yet still restrained; continue to lay down.

Wine Type

Italy’s most-planted red and one of its noblest: a Tuscan icon (Chianti Classico; Brunello) that wanders through many regions. Crisp cherry-scented with a woodsy savor; Italy’s answer to Pinot Noir.
