When it comes to the Northern Rhone, Jean-Louis Chave is king. His highly sought after Hermitage Blanc is always Marsanne dominant, with Roussanne rounding out 15-20% of the assemblage. The 2003 is decadent and rich, low in acidity and highly concentrated. Oily yet lively, full of honeyed notes of caramelized fruit and nuts. Still fresh and vibrant after 14 years!
