Bartolo Mascarello Barolo 1998

Since the 1940s, Bartolo Mascarello was known for his traditional, rustic winemaking practices in the Langhe, advocating for ‘old-school’ methods of producing legendary Nebbiolo. A supporter of traditional botti over barrique, as well as ‘cap holding’, Bartolo’s Baroli are known for being rich and concentrated, with strong aromatics and age-worthy potential. The 1998 vintage has gorgeously developed, with secondary characteristics of tobacco, sweet spice, and earth beginning to take over.
