Aurelien Chatagnier Saint-Joseph Blanc 2016

Created in 2002 after an apprenticeship chez Domaine Jamet, Aurelien Chatagnier built up his ten hectare winery in the northern Rhone, focusing on pure, terroir-driven winemaking techniques. This 60/40 blend of Marsanne Roussanne is organically farmed on granitic soils, then aged for 8-9 months in used oak; warming, savory, and all around delicious.

Rhone Valley, France

Originating in the Swiss Alps and emptying into the Mediterranean, the Rhône sculpted some of France's most fabled terroirs, from Condrieu and Côte Rôtie up north to Châteauneuf-du-Pape down south.
