After traveling the world and working alongside renowned Burgundy producer Christophe Roumier, Julien Sunier decied to open his namesake domaine just a few years back, focusing on organic and biodynamic viticultural practices. Fruit for his 2016 Fleurie grows at steep, southern facing altitudes, on pink granite soils. Fermentation takes place in concrete, maintaining the natural freshness of the Gamay grape, followed by aging in used French oak. The result is a juicy, structured wine, full of floral aromatics and earthy, red fruited flavors. Only 315 cases produced.
