I Custodi Etna Rosso 'Aetneus' 2010

Fruit for I Custodi ‘Aetnus’ comes from old vineyards on Etna’s north side, with roots deeply set in sandy, volcanic soils. Dominated by Nerello Mascalese, this earthy, mineral-driven blend is smoky and elegant, with notes of red berries and tobacco.

Nerello Mascalese

As grown on Sicily’s Etna volcano this grape is gunning for “Pinot Noir of Italy” status making its case with velvety tannins perfumed cherry fruit and a finesse born of high-altitude viticulture.
