Tschida Weinland 'Kapitel I' 2014

Earthy, dry, Cab Franc/Zweigelt blend from Austria’s renowned red producing region, Burgenland. Christian Tschida farms his 10 hectares of old vines as naturally as possible, using a hands off mentality. Fruit for ‘Kapitel’ is destemmed and crushed by foot, followed by fermentation and aging in large oak barrels. The final wine is full of earthy cherry notes, with pronounced soil-driven undertones and bright acidity. Perfect for lovers of Loire reds.

Another of Austria’s local reds whose mere mention prompts unsolicited Schwartzenegger impressions while producing wines with purple-black hues and a tarry savor under its violet-tinged fruit.
