Fruit for Barthod’s 1er Cru ‘Les Cras’ comes from limestone-gravel soils in Chambolle-Musigny; vinification is traditional, with partial destemming and short maceration. Post fermentation, the wine is racked into small barrels, partially new ,and aged for around 20 months. This particular cuvée is extremely complex, full of candied cherry, orange peel, and smoke flavors. An absolute pleasure to drink.
