Gravner Venezia Giulia 'Breg' 2004
A unique blend of equal parts Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Riesling Italico, this Ramato style wine shows a gorgeous coppery orange in the glass, presenting aromas of dried fruit, baking spice, and melon. On the palate, funky flavors of citrus and tea dominate. Aged in amphora and mineral-driven, with a nice grip to the palate.
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
Italy's northeastern-most corner, where the Slavic, the Austro-Hungarian and the 'Italian' all meet in the cuisine and the wines – including, most notably, some of Italy's greatest varietal whites.
