Vincent Paris Cornas 'La Geynale' 2011

With 21 vintages under his belt, Vincent Paris has become a legend within Cornas, producing insanely drinkable wines from his six hectares of vines, ranging up to 90 years in age. ‘La Geynale’ comes from 100 year old vines. Fruit is 100% whole cluster fermented. The 2011 inky and dark, showing spicy, potpourri-driven aromatics. Floral undertones and well-integrated tannins make this wine a stunner.

Whereas its northerly neighbors Côte Rôtie and Hermitage are the elegant gentlemen of the Syrah world, Cornas Syrah is a little more animale, its thick fingers smeared with bacon fat.
