Marcel Lapierre Morgon 'Cuvee MMXIV' 2014

One-fourth of Kermit Lynch’s renowned ‘Gang of Four,’ Marcel Lapierre has been pioneering the natural wine movement in Beaujolais since the 1980s. This namesake cuvée, produced by Mathieu & Camille Lapierre, in honor of their father, comes from older vine parcels of concentrated fruit; ripe raspberries, orange zest, and tart cherry dominate, creating a well-integrated wine of structure and balance.

Gamay

The purplish grapey red of Beaujolais lately taken more seriously as a wine that punches above its weight. Perfectly fruity and yet in certain villages imbued with a stony mineral core.
